Modi condoles former Nepal PM's death


New Delhi, April 16 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed grief on the death of former Nepalese prime minister Surya Bahadur Thapa.

"The prime minister has expressed grief on the passing away of former Prime Minister of Nepal, Shri Surya Bahadur Thapa, and extended condolences to Shri Thapa's family," an official statement said.

Thapa, 87, died at Medanta-The Medicity hospital in Gurgaon on Thursday.

The five-time prime minister was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Medanta in Gurgaon on March 29.
