10 militants killed in Pakistan

Islamabad, April 16 (IANS): At least 10 militants were killed and six others injured on Thursday in Pakistan's Orakzai tribal area in an offensive mounted by security forces as part of “Operation Zarb-e-Azb”, media reported.

Sources told Geo News that 12 militant hideouts were also destroyed as the security forces pounded the militants with heavy weapons.

They said that the latest operation was carried out in the Shekhan area of the Orakzai Agency.

The Pakistani army has been battling the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other local and foreign militant groups in the country's restive tribal belt and in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
