UP CM to review law, order situation

Lucknow, April 16 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will review the law and order situation in the state every two months, an official said on Thursday.

The review will involve a direct tete-a-tete with officials of all districts wherein the chief minister will address their problems and hold them accountable for crimes that are taking place.

"It has been noted that despite some very good work in several sectors, law and order situation continues to eclipse the efforts of the state government," a senior official said here.

The first such meeting is proposed for May 18. In this meeting, all principal secretaries, all divisional commissioners, district magistrates, IG (zone), DIG (range), district police chiefs and others would take part, the official said.
