Man looted of Rs.10 lakh in Ghaziabad


Ghaziabad, April 16 (IANS): Two unidentified armed robbers on a motorcycle looted Rs.10 lakh from a man here on Thursday.

The incident took place at Gyan Khand (I).

Police said that Sushil Kumar Singh, a resident of Noida, sold his flat in Gyan Khand (I) to one Dinesh Tiwari. He received the advance payment of Rs.10 lakh on Thursday.

The deal was being mediated by Avanish Chaudhary who runs a realty firm.

Around 11.00 a.m. when Singh, a government contractor, left the broker's office, two robbers intercepted him by stopping their bike in front of his car.

As he stopped his car, one of the robbers put a pistol to his head, snatched the bag containing the Rs.10 lakh and fled the spot.

Singh called police who began their investigation and also questioned Avanish Chaudhary.

Chaudhary was allowed to go after questioning.

"We are searching for the robbers, intensive checking of motorcycles is being conducted and intelligence is being collected," said Circle Officer (CO) Atul Yadav.
