Belthangady, Apr 16: Deacon Stany Pinto was ordained by Mangaluru Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza in St Francis Xavier Church, Indubettu, here on Thursday April 16.
With this ordination, the diocese of Mangalore gets 10 new priests this year.
The new priest Fr Stany Pinto hails from Indubettu parish and this parish being one of the smallest parish in the diocese of Mangalore, has given many vocations for the religious life.
In a solemn ceremony, Deacon Stany Pinto was ordained fostering vocations to the religious life in the region.
After the ordination ceremony, a small felicitation programme was held at the church ground.
Nearly 50 priests joined the celebration and great number of religious sisters and laity were present.
