Udupi: Rape accused from Gopady faces ire of fellow prisoner

Udupi, Apr 17: It is learnt that Prashant Mogaveera, who has been facing charges of trying to rape and then murdering pregnant woman, Indira Mogaveera from Gopady near Kundapur, who was lodged in the district jail at Hiriyadka, was assaulted by another prisoner.

As per a report filed in Hiriyadka police station, Prashant's right hand fingers were twisted, he was attacked with hands, and kicked by a jail inmate at 8.30 am on Wednesday April 14. At 3.30 pm the same day, the same prisoner caught hold of Prashant's head and banged it against the wall.

The jail staff then admitted Prashant into the district hospital here for treatment.

    he should be kicked daily on rotation basis.
