Afghanistan's first lady meets trafficking survivors

New Delhi, April 17 (IANS): Afghanistan's first lady Rula Ghani on Friday met the survivors of various forms of exploitation including trafficking and child labour here.

She lauded them for the courage to "take on life" despite all odds.

Rula, who visited the city-based Prayas girls home, urged the authorities to organise a trip for the children to Kabul to familiarise them with the cultural similarities between Afghanistan and India.

"You are already lucky to be here but your guts will take you further in life. I am happy to meet so many of you who are ready to take on life despite so many odds," Rula said while addressing the children.

She also visited the various education centres run by Prayas.
