Mangaluru, Apr 18: The state cabinet has given approval for the construction of Dakshina Kannada district complex at Alape, Padil and it will be constructed at a cost of Rs 41 crore, said district incharge minister Ramanath Rai.

Addressing a press meet here on Saturday April 18, Rai said, "The approval was given in the cabinet meeting held on Friday April 17. Out of Rs 41 crore, the state government will release Rs 30 crore and the remaining Rs 11 crore will be contributed by various government departments."

He said the complex will come up on 5.89 acres of land at Alape which the forest department had handed over to the revenue department.

"The detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared and after that tenders will be called. Once the work begins, it will be completed within 18 months," Rai added.

The complex will have five storeys and house 36 government departments, the DC's officer, an auditorium and two meeting halls.

Speaking about Ranga Mandir, he submitted the proposal to Tagore Cultural Foundation when he visited Delhi two months ago, and he was given assurance that it will be done.
Regarding construction of Ambedkar Bhavan in the city, he said there are some legal problems, and that the file is on the CM's table, and once signed and approved by the cabinet, the work on it will start.

He also said that the district administration has sent proposal to the state government about construction of service bus stand in Mangaluru and it will materialize soon.

If approved, the Rang Mandir will be constructed at a cost of Rs 24 crore and service bus stand at a cost of Rs 75 crore, he added.

When asked whether the Yettinahole project should be dropped as per Congress leader Janardhan Poojary's statement, Ramanath Rai declined to comment.

    Langoolacharya,

Probably RS.30 Crore for commission. RS.11 Crores for cost of Construction. After some years of occupation of the offices in the complex, we may anticipate some broken furniture & accumulated dust in the Government offices.
