Pakistani forces kill five militants

Islamabad, April 19 (IANS): At least five militants were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Khyber Agency, a region in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, media reported on Sunday.

Three security personnel were also injured in the shoot-out with the terrorists in Nari Baba area of Tirah Valley, ARY news reported.

The operation in Tirah, part of Khyber tribal area, is part of the army's offensive against strongholds of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other militant groups in and around North Waziristan that began in June last year following the Karachi airport attack in which at least 36 people were killed.
