Now you can backup your WhatsApp conversations to Google Drive


Apr 19 (Agencies) : WhatsApp has now come up with the latest update of its Android application which will allow you to backup your WhatsApp conversations to Google Drive. You can avail this new feature with the latest update of WhatsApp with version number 2.12.45 for Android.

In order to create a backup of your conversation, you will be required to select the option to take a backup to Google Drive in the 'Settings' tab of WhatsApp. You will also be reqired to connect your Gmail account associated with Drive to your WhatsApp account.


With the latest feature your chat conversation backup will be speedier as WhatsApp already has an offline conversation backup feature. Now, with the online conversation backup, your WhatsApp chats will show up in Google Drive whenever you take a backup.

However, the updated features is not available on Google Play Store at the moment. The update is also not available on Windows Phone or the iOS platform yet. The new WhatsApp version can be downloaded from the company’s official website.

The company CEO Jan Koum had recently announced on his Facebook page that WhatsApp has acquired nearly 800 million monthly active users. The messaging app has also released Material Design for Android smartphones which is currently available on an apk file. The Material Design service brings a refreshing colour scheme and a new and refined outlook for the messaging application.
