Moodbidri: Falling piece of wood kills construction worker

Moodbidri, Apr 22: After a piece of wood that was falling down from the fifth floor of a hostel building under construction at Puttige here hit a construction worker, he collapsed to the ground and breathed his last instantly. This tragic incident took place on Tuesday April 21 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Ninganna (38), resident of Kukkannur in Kalaburgi district. He was staying at Mulky Lingappaiah Kadu since sometime with wife and two children.

It is learnt that Ninganna was working in the ground floor on Tuesday, even as many workers worked on the fifth floor of the under-construction building. Accidentally, a wooden piece fell down from the fifth floor, hit Ninganna's head in the bargain, causing his death on the spot.

Moodbidri polce have registered a case. They are investigating the matter.
