Udupi, Apr 22: After an auto rickshaw hit a parked tempo on Tuesday April 21, the auto rickshaw driver and a passenger suffered injuries. In the incident, pipes protruding from the backside of the tempo pierced the front glass of the auto rickshaw and and stopped after hitting the rear side glass.

The tempo, which was being driven by a person named Vijay Kumar, had been parked near a petrol bunk in Gundibail here for proceeding towards the godown. An auto rickshaw which came from behind, hit the tempo at great speed. Rickshaw driver, Prabhu Kumar, was injured, while passenger, Deepa, suffered injury to her right chin, it is gathered.

It may be recalled that through a legislation passed last year, it had been made mandatory to carry all items properly stored inside vehicles of proper length, without allowing any of the parts to protrude outside.
