Shivpal to study riverside beautification in Singapore, Malaysia


Lucknow, April 25 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav left on Saturday for a four-day trip to Singapore and Malaysia to study the beautification of riverfronts in the two countries, officials said.

Yadav is also the uncle of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

The state government is working on an ambitious plan to develop the riverfront along the Gomti river in state capital Lucknow. De-silting of the river is already underway.

Principal Secretary (Irrigation) Deepak Singhal and other officials of the state government are also travelling with the minister.
