Mangaluru: DCP Santhosh Babu transferred to Chikkamagaluru

Mangaluru, Apr 25: Deputy commissioner of police (law and order) of Mangaluru city Santhosh Babu has been transferred.

The transfer comes just four months after Babu took charge as the DCP at the beginning of this year following the transfer of his predecessor K V Jagadish.

Santhosh Babu has been posted as superintendent of police (SP) of Chikkamagaluru district.

It is not yet known who would take charge as DCP (law and order) in Babu's place.

Confirming the transfer, Babu told daijiworld that he would be taking charge of his new post in Chikkamagaluru on Sunday April 26.

    Mr Darryl Lobo,I agree with your comment. This is why Mangalore is such a bad shape of living condition. We have uneducated Corporators and Mayors. We had Fish salesman as Mayor who traveled overseas without knowing what to say and how to answer. One who did not know which end is north of MCC Building. But they all knew how to manipulate the Public and to receive black money. Some of the officials are so crooked,even a blacksmith could not straighten.
    Darryl,Sad part of the whole thing is that Public elects them without thinking who they Vote for or who represents them.

    I think Govt should set a minimum tenure for the IPS/ IAS officer before transfers. 4 months and a transfer, i think this is very difficult to cope up with the professional as well personal life!

    Whoever comes with clean chit and as a non-corrupt person will be transferred from Mangalore and Udupi region for sure………….. Because we need people who dance to the tunes of our regional Politicians only

    DCP Santhosh Babu has been in Mangalore for hardly four months and he is on orders of transfer. He has already given a good account of himself as an honest - efficient - hardworking and effective officer. Is this the penalty one pays for performing well in an assignment.

    The young, dynamic and result oriented officer has given a great account of himself during the short stint he had in Mangalore. He has indeed gained the confidence of all peace loving citizens.

    I have personally known Santhosh and and indeed was taken up with him. Wherever he goes he goes with the blessings and good-will of people from Mangalore.

    This is the gift to mangaloreans by Our honourable CM during his visit to Mangalore. Next transfer will be Mangalore municipal commissioner. Just wait and see. Jessy Bai now trying her level best to transfer.

    DCP Santosh Babu must have stepped on some Corrupt Elected Official's Toe. This led to His transfer. This transfer process has caused most of the problem in Police Force. What ever the problem,Police Officials are afraid to talk or take action. So Sand Mafia,Drug Mafia and other crimes are on the rise. Public should raise their voice.
