Mangaluru, Apr 25: Ten persons from Mangaluru are stranded in Nepal, where a powerful earthquake on Saturday April 25 left a trail of destruction and claimed over a thousand lives.
It is learnt that a group of 10 friends had gone on a trekking expedition to Nepal on April 18. They were supposed to return on April 29.
However, they are now understood to be stranded at Yeti Mountain Hotel in Thame, Nepal. Sources said that they have to get to Lukla to get back, but they have no mode of transportation.
They have urged for assistance from the Indian embassy in Nepal and need to be airlifted.
Their relatives in Mangaluru said that all of them are safe and have enough food to last three days, but they are unable to get out of the place.
