Low intensity tremor hits Jammu and Kashmir


Srinagar, April 26 (IANS): A low intensity tremor was recorded in Srinagar on Sunday. However, no damage was reported from anywhere.

"A tremor measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale was recorded by our seismograph at 10.28 a.m. today (Sunday)," Sonam Lotus, director of the local Met Office, told IANS.

"The coordinates of the tremor, which was of slight intensity, were latitude of 28.7 degrees north and longitude of 84.7 degrees east. The epicentre of the quake was in Nepal region," he added.
