35 killed due to rain, windstorm in Pakistan


Islamabad, April 27 (IANS): At least 35 people were killed and 150 others injured following heavy rains and windstorm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Sunday, media reported.

A heavy storm hammered different areas of the province, including Peshawar, Charsadda and Naushera, followed by heavy rains on Sunday, ARY news reported.

At least 35 people were killed and 150 injured across the province in different incidents related to the rain and windstorm.

Roofs of many houses were blown off as heavy winds hit parts of the province, collapsing walls and electricity poles.

At least 17 mm rain was recorded in Peshawar and adjacent areas, while strong winds ran as high as 110 kmph.
