Kasargod: Student arrested for stealing girl's phone, sending indecent texts

Kasargod, Apr 27: Vidyanagar station police arrested a student for stealing the smartphone belonging to a female student of dentistry and sending indecent WhatsApp messages from it to other classmates, here on Monday April 27.

The arrested student has been identified as Thekkil Bendichal resident, B H Ilyas(18). He is a plus-two student.

A Samsung smart phone of a female student of dentistry who had come for a wedding at Berka on April 23 was stolen. Subsequently, indecent WhatApp messages from the mobile of the girl were sent to the classmates. When calls were made to the telephone, there was no response.

The girl complained to Vidyanagar station police. When investigated, the police got information about the boy. He was arrested from Chattanchal.

The mobile phone has been recovered from him. It is learnt that he had tried to sell it.
