Mangaluru, Apr 28: Miscreants poured Kerosene and set fire to a shop named 'News Point',well known for sale of newspapers, stationery and mobile phones in Mudipu in the wee hours on Tuesday, Apr 28.

The shop is owned by Mudipu residents Venkatesh and Jagadish. The loss is estimated to be Rs 7 lacs.

Neighboring hoteliers who saw the fire inside the shop at about 5 a m informed Venkatesh. Though locals together extinguished the fire, the items in the shop were partly turned to ashes. In a similar incident on November 29, 2008 the same shop was gutted due to electric short circuit.

As Kerosene oil marks were found till outside of the shop, it is confirmed that the shop was set on fire. Police are looking out for the suspects. Locals say that as the shop had good business, miscreants might have set fire to the shop out of jealousy.

Not good at all, and my sympathies are with Mr. Venkatesh and Mr. Jagadish & can understand the pain they are going through due to the loss of their business! If News Point is doing good business, then it should be due to the hard work put in by the partners in business and why should others feel jealous?

Well, it is just an assumption that some people might have done this heinous act out of jealousy and if this is true then it is really very bad. If the culprits are caught, then they should be treated accordingly under the law.

Dear all, lets live together in peace and let’s make our society a better place to live.
