Morocco pledges $1 mn in relief to quake-ravaged Nepal


Rabat, April 29 (IANS): Morocco has decided to provide $1 million in emergency assistance to the earthquake victims in Nepal, the foreign ministry said.

"Upon high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has decided to provide $1 million in emergency grant aid to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, following the devastating earthquake that hit Saturday, April 25, 2015, several regions of the country, causing considerable human casualties and economic losses," the ministry said in a statement quoted by MAP news agency.

"This emergency aid, which will be sent to Nepal through the United Nations, is part of the efforts of the international community to help the country cope with the devastating effects of this disaster and alleviate the suffering of its people," the ministry stated.
