Riyadh, Apr 30: The Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) held its much awaited annual event “Karavali Parba” on April 23, 2015.
The function was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the President Rajesh Kumar, Vice President Santhosh Shetty, General Secretary Nazeer Ahmed, Founder & Ex-President Vijay Rai, Ex-Presidents Ramesh Shetty & Royston Prabhu, Ex-Vice President Parvez Ali. A photo session was held at the stage comprising the Executive Committee Members of KWAR and the Ladies Wing.
A delicious dinner was served for all the gathered guests.
Soon after the dinner the cultural event began with an inaugural speech by the President Rajesh Kumar. He gave a warm welcome to the jam packed audience who were so excited to watch the programs ahead…
As a start of the cultural event Miss Aathmika Rao performed with an indian traditional Bharatha Natya dance. As soon as the dance was over, all the audience were stunned to welcome Mr. Srikanth Hejamady, who enthralled the gathering by presenting himself as the father of our nation “Mahathma Gandhi” with a background score of Karavali theme song.
And then with an enchanting karavali traditional costumes all the KWAR Executive Committee Members along with some of the Ladies Wing Members presented the “Tulu Nada Vaibhava” with a procession alongside the audience up to the stage, comprising the culture of karavali,where they presented the acts of Kombu, Pathake, Chande, Talla, Pili Vesha, Karaga, Gombe and the most famous Yakshagana.
And the program continued with solo folk, hindi and kannada movie songs performed by Santhosh Shetty, Lekha, Rajiv Kamath,Shreeja, Ashwini Rao, Aakansha, Saujanya, Farooq, Bhaskar and Nazeer.
The most spectacular and excellent act was by the children of KWAR who performed the act of “Ek Anek” symbolising the KWAR slogan “Unity is our Strength”. And the colourful Fashion Show expressing the traditional costumes from Kashmir to Kanyakumari,this segment was conducted by Riba and Joshika. These were the two acts which made the audience speechless and the crowd was so overwhelmed with the performance of these talented young kids. All the credit goes to KWAR Cultural Team lead by Bhaskar P.M, Dilip Kumar, Ritika Kamath and Shagufta Nauman.
Veena Rai and Vijai Rai, the founder and ex president of KWAR were felicitated with a shawl and memento by the President Rajesh Kumar and his wife Mrs. Latha Rajesh Kumar, as the Rai family is leaving the Kingdom for good after 30 years of his service in the Kingdom. On behalf KWAR Rajesh Kumar wished them good health and a peaceful future life in India.
Some of the group dance were performed by various organisations like: Murudeshwar Group, Barsa, Aangann Konknechem and SKAR. And the most spectacular among the group dance was “India Wale” performed by the young talented boys of KWAR Members, and this dance was choreographed by Master Zayeem. One of the audiences came forward by presenting a Cash Award for this act.
Hilarious tulu skit was performed by G3 Group named as “Cinema Huchu” directed by Nagaraj Bajal and another skit performed by Barsa Group named as “Muddu Manasina Munna”
Lucky Draw was conducted on regular interval sponsored by Jet Airways, Air India, Air Arabia, Fly Dubai, Mahindra Holidays, and Malabar Gold. And also there was a Raffle Draw sponsored by Madina Hyper Market.
And the final act by G3 Group was so thrilling, which scared the audience with ghost effect and it was mind blowing illusion. The act was written, created and directed by Mr. Nagaraj Bajal. And KWAR thank him for his outstanding contributions to make this event a grand success.

The program concluded at around 4 am with the recitation of national anthem.
