Dubai: Ganiga Samaj celebrates 9th anniversary with splendid event

Dubai, Apr 30: Ganiga Samaja UAE celebrated its 9th anniversary with a splendid event recently at Fortune Grand Hotel Bur Dubai. Over a 100 Ganigas were present from various parts of UAE for the event.

The event was organized by the committee members with all dedication, hard work and unity with the approval and consent of the main board members of Ganiga Samaj. The Ganiga members present on this occasion enjoyed each and every moment.

Raghavendra Ganiga started the programme by inviting the Ganiga Samaja UAE founder, president and vice-president on to the dais.

The event began with a devotional song sung by Geeta Radhakrishna Shetty, Veena Suresh, Chethna Sumanth, Aarthi Harish Shetty and Mamtha Shetty, followed by lighting of the lamp by the president and the managing committee members. Inaugurating the function, president Suresh Ganiga, founder Satheesh Venkatramana, vice-president Dayananada Rao, and vice-presiden Arun Ganiga welcomed all the guests, members and their families to the function.

The president and the committee members honoured prominent members of other associations who were the guests for the day, including Shashidar Nagaraj from Ganiga community who runs free Kannada classes for children at JSS school, Dubai. The Samaj members welcomed him with bouquets and appreciated his presence at the function with his family members.

Raghavendra Ganiga welcomed all of them and Geetha Radha Krishna Shetty introduced the dignitaries to the gathering.

Drawing competition was held for kids based on their age groups, in which all kids of the Samaj participated with keen enthusiasium. It was conducted under the supervision of Nisha Sachin, Divya Prasanna, Chethna and Anusha Raghavendra. The winners were chosen by Mamtha Satheesh.

After the competition, a scrumptious lunch was served to all the members, followed by entertaining performances and activities which were loved by one and all present.

Dance numbers were performed by Niriksha, Rithika, Manya, Tanisha and Diya which brought a smile on everyone’s faces and an energetic dance performance by SPM Group (Sachin,Prasanna, Manoj) on a fusion mix of Hindi and Kannada film songs had everyone swaying, clapping and wishing for more.

Dinesh and Swathi Prasanth entertained the audience by rendering songs in their melodious voices. Songs performed by children (Dishitha, Cheethu, Chirag and Kushal) were appreciated by all.

Another remarkable performance was by Pavan Charanlal who sang and played guitar.

All the winners were awarded prizes and certificates along with Chilly Willy gift hampers and all the participants were appreciated with participation certificates. Games were held for kids and couples which was played with utmost enjoyment and excitement.

Sohan Brahmavar took care of all the songs that needed to be played on time. The photography was taken care of by Pradeep, Manoj, Harish, Nathasha and Niriksha.

Self-introductory speeches were given by new and old members of the Samaj who attended the function this year.

The programme concluded with a lucky dip for all members and winners - Anusha Raghavendra and Subhash Salian - walked away with a 32-inch Samsung LED TV and a Samsung mobile phone.

Finally, concluding the get-together, the vote of thanks was proposed by Raghavendra, followed by founder Satheesh Venkataramana and president Suresh Ganiga thanking each and every Ganiga for attending the get-together and making it memorable.
