17 acquitted of sabotage conspiracy charges


Hubballi, May 1 (DHNS): Seventeen persons, who were arrested in 2008 on charges of conspiring for sabotage across South India, and of having links with the banned Students’ Islamic Movement of India, were acquitted by the first additional district and sessions court here on Thursday.

Mohammed Asif (30) of Raichur, Riyazuddin Nasir (27) of Hyderabad, Asadulla (30) of Hosapete, Hafiz Hussain Mulla (34) of Vijayapura, Shakeel Ahmed (36) of Dharwad, Allabaksh Yadwad (30) of Hubballi, Mirja Ahmed Baig (31) of Humnabad, Shibli (37) of Kottayam in Kerala, Yahya Kummakatti (39) of Kozhikode in Kerala, Safdarhussain Nagori (45) of Mehdapur in Madhya Pradesh, Kamruddin (41) of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, Mohammed Yasin (33) of Kalaburagi, Mohammed Ansar (33) of Ernakulam in Kerala, Munroj Jaman (39) of Belagavi, P A Shadoli (32) of Kottayam in Kerala and Akbarbhai Munna (36) of Udupi were acquitted, along with Syed Sadhik who was released on bail in 2011. The name of Syed Nayim of Bengaluru was dropped from the charge-sheet earlier, due to lack of evidence. Among the accused, six persons were in Dharwad jail, eight were in a Gujarat jail and two were in a Kerala jail.

Judge Gopalakrishna Kolli pronounced the judgement. K M Sheeralli and Ismail Jalagar argued in favour of the accused, while D A Bhandekar was the public prosecutor.

The case had evoked lot of curiosity as some medical students were also among the accused.

    Advantage of cong Govt.....Manu ..do you know, where is Akshamdam ????? All the accused were tortured for 11 years , and one fine morning they were acquitted and released, ALL THIS HAPPENED UNDER BJP GOVT....Shame on chaddi democracy

    OMG....All chaddis are missing....I heard of fresh earth quakes in Papua, New Guinea ( 7.1 ) and in Andaman Nikobar....But We did not hear about any earth quake in coastal districts and DW forum.... Shame on Chaddi democracy

    Denial of justice n victimisation of injustice n inequality in social system can n shall produce more jihadists or terrorist or naxals.....the real culprits are roaming free n enjoying their life to the maximum..There is a systamatic proxy war n discrimination n spread of hate is going on in india against minorities patronised by RSS n bjp n promoted by radical government...my feeling today is that any way i ll die but i shall not die alone n i shall take many many with me from my harassers n trouble mongers....today this is what is felt by victimised community...Death to nagpur ideology..

    Police and administration is very active while arresting a particular community members. But when comes to Majority it is reverse. Look at the serious case of Rape@ Mangalore one child handled.

    When these innocent muslims arrested ,the media tried their level best to influence a pre judgement declaring them criminals.Now lets watch which channel will have light on the acquittal decision of the court.These are the best example of minorities sufferings .

    Yet another example that how innocent Muslim youths are framed and detained. This is ongoing conspiracy against particular one community.
    Amazing !!! No comments on this article... all the pseudos, hypocratics disappeared.. I am sure there were beyond 100 comments when they detained. 17 years !!! they suffered and lived with the tag of terrorists. There are many innocent muslim youths still languishing in jails without trials. NIA are exposed. Wish acquitted book charge defamation case against the responsible and also wish communal organization, media and its supporter refrain bashing minority unless are convict.
    As of today almost all the violent activities in india are undertaking under the guidance of the one and only nagpur headquarter.
