Kabul, May 1 (IANS): At least 27 people, 25 of them militants, were killed on Friday as clashes erupted in parts of Afghanistan's Khost province.
"Over 200 armed rebels attacked border police checkpoints in Ali Shir and Tarizai districts, triggering heavy battle," an official statement said.
According to the statement, 25 militants and two security peronnel were killed in the clashes.
