12 militants killed in Pakistan airstrikes

Islamabad, May 2 (IANS): At least 12 militants were killed and eight others were injured on Saturday in airstrikes conducted by military jets in Pakistan's Khyber Agency.

According to security sources, military jets and helicopters targeted militant hideouts in Tirah Valley's Kokikhel area, Dawn online reported.

The airstrikes came amid the ongoing "Khyber-2" operation launched by the army in the tribal region and are part of the military's stepped-up efforts since a militant attack at Peshawar's Army Public School in December 2014 killed over 140 students and staff.
