Mangaluru: 11 kg of Iranian saffron seized from passenger at airport

Mangaluru, May 2: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport on Saturday May 2 seized 11 kg of Iranian saffron worth Rs 13.75 lac from a passenger.

The accused passenger has been identified as Moideen Salman (23), a resident of Kasargod.

He arrived at the airport at around 7.50 am by Jet Airways flight from Dubai.

The customs officers found 11 kg of 'Tashrifat' brand of Iranian saffron concealed among the clothes and other personal items inside two cartonss which were brought by Salman as his checked-in baggage.

Further investigation is under progress.
