Dubai, May 3: Thumbay hospital Dubai organized a free check-up camp for pregnant women and Mother’s Day Out event at its hospital premises recently.
More than 1,500 women took part in the programme. Special talks by senior gynecologists, pediatricians, dieticians and other experts helped women understand parenting and motherhood.
Pregnant women availed free consultation and check-up as well as economical delivery packages and special discounts on caesarian cases.
Akbar Moideen Thumbay, director Healthcare Division of Thumbay Group, said, “We are here to offer the best possible healthcare at an affordable price. We have highly experienced doctors checking the patients and offering free consultations during free camps. The programme instills a lot of confidence and we generate loyalty amongst our patients. We have timed it to suit the needs of the patients, especially with summer catching up and Ramadan round the corner. Pregnant women need special care during Ramadan, and we educate the patients about the specific health care precautions to be taken during this time”.
“As part of our corporate social responsibility and community service, we have been holding Prenatal and Antenatal Classes for Pregnant women for the last five years in our hospitals in Ajman, Sharjah and Fujairah. This unique event is an extension of our pregnancy classes, which are very popular and have benefited over 2,500 women till date”, said Akbar Moideen Thumbay.
“This will be a regular event at the hospital and we are happy that many women have taken advantage of this event. We hope that our desire to help expecting mothers understand pregnancy and take necessary precautions will be successful”, he added.
Mom’s Day Out included health, wellness and fun event for expecting, new and experienced moms. All these events were offered for free. The activities included talks and interactive sessions with the experts. Many parents clarified their doubts and misconceptions about pregnancy. Companies displayed their products and demonstrated useful prenatal and antenatal products on the occasion.
Other products and items on display were baby strollers, beauty products, nutritional supplements, organic mother and baby food, baby bags ‘n’ shoes, maternity clothes and accessories, baby and mother gifts, pregnancy and parenting books etc. All the exhibitors gave away free samples on the occasion.
Dr. Manvir Singh Walia, Administrative Director Healthcare Division Thumbay Group gave away surprise spot prizes to the participants.
