Mangaluru: Man electrocuted during fishing trip

Mangaluru, May 4: Chandra (29) from Kunjathur, who had visited Arabian sea for fishing at Uchchila Bettampady area, was electrocuted. This tragedy occurred on Saturday May 2.

Chandra had gone to Uchchila on Saturday for fishing activity as per his routine. However, his family members were worried as he did not return even at night. On Sunday, they filed missing complaint in Ullal police station.

The policemen, who went in search of the fisherman, found his body. Electric cables are found to be dangling very low at the spot chosen by the youth for fishing activity. When he was spreading his fishing net, he accidentally came in contact with the power cables and got electrocuted, it is gathered.

A case relating to the incident was registered in Ullal station.
