Students of Jagadguru Kripalu schools in talent show


New Delhi, May 4 (IANS): Some 600 students of Jagadguru Kripalu Primary School and Jagadguru Kripalu Intermediate College showcased as many as 169 projects at the 9th annual education fair at Kunda, a town in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, on Monday.

The topics covered in the displays at the sprawling campus of the institutions ranged from deadliest viruses and diseases, ocean life, holiest shrines of the world, most powerful personalities of the world, Disney characters and famous hospitals of the world, a statement said.

Assisted by under-graduates pursuing bachelor's in education at Jagadguru Kripalu Mahavidyalaya, the students also displayed their creativity and imagination, touching topics like the missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 and the tragic death of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes.

The presidents of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, Vishakha Tripathi, Shyama Tripathi and Krishna Tripathi were present on the event, which was inaugurated by Harish Chandra Srivastava, the state spokesperson for the Bhartiya Janta Party.

Later, the best three models of each section were given prizes, while the teachers were felicitated for their guidance.

Recognised with the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award, Mother Teresa Award and the Nelson Mandela Award, among others, for work in the area of girl education, the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education imparts free education to over 5,000 girls from pre-primary to post graduate levels.

In addition to free education, students at the various institutions located at Pratapgarh district also get free transportation, including bicycles to travel long distances, uniforms, bags, and other school-related requirements.

"The aim is to remove any obstacle to the girl's education that is likely to be induced by poverty."
