Ahead of GP polls, CM cancels Europe tour

Bengaluru, May 5 (DHNS): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has cancelled his week-long two-nation trip to Europe citing the Gram Panchayat polls in the State as the reason.

Siddaramaiah had planned to visit Germany and Sweden between May 9 and 16 to invite business entrepreneurs in the two countries to invest in the State and also invite them to participate in the Global Investors Meet scheduled to be held later this year.

However, with the State Election Commission likely to announce the dates for the Gram Panchayat polls this week, Siddaramaiah has cancelled his tour. While Gram Panchayat elections are not fought on party symbols, the polls are crucial for they become the foundation for fighting the taluk and zilla panchayat elections next year.

Siddaramaiah has asked two senior officers - Industries and Commerce department Additional Chief Secretary K Rathna Prabha and Industries and Commerce Director Gaurav Gupta to attend scheduled meetings in the two countries.

Siddarmaiah has declined an invitation by the prime minister to join the official delegation during his visit to China between May 14 and May 16, sources said. Modi personally invited Siddaramaiah to join him for the China trip during the latter’s visit to New Delhi last week.

Hello Mr. Darshan, PM Mr. Modi visited Australia recently, he spoke in Australian Parliament (first Indian Prime Minister to do so) in Fluent English, without any notes or piece of paper in front of him, but with Gujarthi accent. His speech was excellent and well appreciated by both ruling & opposition members of Australian parliament.
Mr. Modi has a good vision for India, we hope he is able to convince many top Australian companies to invest in India using Indian labour & Indian resources.

So far Siddu has been a good CM. If you compare Siddu with former CM yeddurappa , Siddu is far far better. Yeddy was just wasting his time and resources in visiting temples and mutts and got himself involved in many financial scandels. Infact siddu can do even better ,if he is given a free hand. Right now his hands are tied by the High Command and he is not able work freely. But in any case he is not corrupt or non partisan or even communal. He is much better than any other CM's Karnataka had got. I hope he delivers on his promises. The one thing he has ever failed is controlling the Sangh Parivar elements in the state. Infact he is not able to stop these outfits from creating communal tension who are disturbing the peace in the coastal region.

Perfectly understand your utter inner frustrations & stomach acidity, extreme jealousy from the 16th May 2014 until now on Modi, BJP & Hindu outfits...But you need to realize truth as to why people of this country rejected Congress reducing it from 216 seats to 44
Please understand the Congress has not done anything in Karnataka until now, Siddu fearing dissents has not even expanded cabinet...When anti social, extremely corrupt elements like Rohan Baig, DKS, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Ramalinga Reddy are there for his company, who needs further enemies

Congress is on way to coffin & counting days in Karnataka

ananta, you have stomach acidity. B.J.P was given a chance in Karnataka & it turned out all of them were bumbling idiots, It was one scam after another & people realised their folly . The moment your party came to power you all indulged in communal politics, Mandir was long since forgotten. Even now it is only because of Modi that they are able to hold on. It is just a matter of time. Arun Shourie has exposed the truth about the party . It is not far from doomsday. As for B.J.P in Karnataka it is a closed chapter

What's the point in Siddu going to Europe? He does not understand English & cannot communicate

On a more serious note, Karnataka is indeed loosing many international business to neighbouring states like Telengana, AP & even to Goa! It's high time the sleeping Govt wakes up & takes decisive action, Bengaluru is fast loosing charm due to bad traffic, bad roads & escalating real estate prices!! The Congress Govt is in the same situation as in UPA 2, indecisive, non committal & minority oriented, this way, they will dig their own grave in the 2018 elections!!

    Ismail,

First this duffer created problem for Amazon in Septembet 2014. Last month Amazon decided to move to Telangana. After seeing this news, Siddu sent his officials to Amazon to conceive them to stay in Karnataka.

A CM should justify his actions, not behave like chameleon. Amaozon had opened second biggest warehouse in Yelahanka 4 yeas back, after Biwandi in MH. Search in Google "Amazon Karnataka" for more information.

Honda Motors wanted to invest in Hubli, this clumsy person kicked them. Amazon is well established in Karnataka and he his kicking them out. After seeing this news, who will invest in Karnataka irrespective of whichever countries he visits. Investors need transparent policies and safe environment to do business. He should learn from SM Krishna from his own party, how he attracted global investors, sitting in Bangalore.
