Bantwal: Retired railway employee commits suicide

Bantwal, May 5: A retired employee of railways ended his life at the railway quarters at Farangipet in the taluk. The incident occurred on Monday May 4.

Chenna (58), who was alone, used to look after the operation of the railway gate at Volachchil near Farangipet since last several years. He stayed alone, and was a liquor addict, it is gathered.

Chenna went to sleep in the railway quarters on Sunday night, and had not reported for duty on Monday. Other railway employees went in search of him and found that he had committed suicide by consuming poison, policemen of rural station here informed.
