Bengaluru, May 6: Bengaluru city Lokayuktha police have registered a FIR against Rajarajeshwari Nagar MLA Munirathna over his alleged role in the billing scam and massive irregularities pertaining to BBMP works running to the tune of several crores.
FIRs have also been registered against BBMP planning authority executive engineer and some others.
Sonia Narang, Lokayuktha superintendent of police heads the team of investigations pertaining to the case.
As per information from Lokayuktha police, there is a prima facie evidence to prove that an amount of approximately Rs 10 crore has been misappropriated in the Rs 45 crore released for the developmental work in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency.
In case of any need, the accused can be arrested, police revealed.
Meanwhile BBMP executive officer N Vijayakumar has been arrested by the Lokayuktha police on the same issue.
