Gangolli residents threaten of protests on cancellation of buses

Kundapur, May 6: Local people here have expressed anguish regarding cancellation of KSRTC buses that have been plying between Gangolli and Kundapur for the last five years. They have threatened of protests in front of KSRTC depot.

Bus trips between Gangolli and Kundapur of a bus service have been suspended for the last one week. The department officials are justifying their action saying that there is scarcity of driver and conductor. There are may auspicious celebrations in May and the cancellation of trips has angered the people. "If KSRTC cancels trips when there is good collection what will they be doing when the collection is less ?" ask the people.

KSRTC has been operating two buses on the route. The cancellation of one of them has made them suspect if private bus lobby is working in them.

    KSRTC should re-start buses from kundapura to gangolli immediately. They should not bow to pressure from private bus owners. People should fight this unitedly.
