Conference to showcase India's achievements in education


New Delhi, May 6 (IANS): The government on Wednesday said it planned to hold an international conference to showcase India's achievements in addressing issues related to quality, equality, access to and best practices in the field of education.

Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply that the International Conference on Education is proposed to be held in November 2015 at Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

"The conference will be an opportunity to showcase to the world India's achievements in addressing issues related to quality, equity and access besides best practices in the field of school, and also to understand best policy interventions and outcomes of measures undertaken in other countries," she said.
