Sullia, May 7: A youth lost his life after the motor bike he was riding collided head on with another motor bike. The incident occurred near Panja church on Panja-Guthigar road on Tuesday May 5. The deceased has been identified as Manoj (24), a resident of Neerkaje, and working for a private firm.

Manoj, who was seriously injured in this accident, breathed his last while being taken to hospital. The rider of the other bike, Bismark from Pallodi in Jake, Panja village, suffered fracture of his legs. Pillion rider, Gagan, escaped with minor injuries.

Manoj is survived by parents and two brothers. He was a social worker, and was known for his voluntary work in local Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samiti, and other social and religious activities.

Manoj, employed in a private firm located at Alekkady in the taluk, had visited a building on Tuesday morning with some colleagues for fitting steel pipes. In the afternoon, he had lunch in a hotel in Panja town, and was returning to Panja after ensuring that other workers were engaged in their jobs at the project site, when tragedy struck.

MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA, S Angara, zilla panchayat president, Asha Timmappa Gowda, taluk panchayat member, Anil Rai, and many others have condoled the untimely death of Manoj.
