CRPF trooper injured in accidental fire in Kashmir


Srinagar, May 7 (IANS): A paramilitary trooper was injured here on Thursday when he accidentally shot himself.

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was injured in an accidental fire in the city's outskirts in the morning, a police spokesman said. "Constable Devinder Singh of 44 Battalion of CRPF was injured in an accidental fire from his service weapon."

The constable was posted as the guard at the residence of of state Youth services and sports and Information and Technology Minister Imran Ansari in Srinagar's Qamrwari area.

The constable was admitted to a city hospital.
