Sushma presses wrong button, corrects her vote

New Delhi, May 7 (IANS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who on Thursday called for unanimous passage of the bill on land boundary agreement with Bangladesh, herself inadvertently pressed the wrong button in the Lok Sabha while voting on the legislation, sources said.

The display board showed 320 members in favour and one against after voting on motion for consideration of the constitutional amendment bill which was taken up in the house in the afternoon.

The lone negative vote was by Sushma Swaraj who inadvertently pressed the red button instead of green, sources said. However, she corrected her vote through paper.

Opposition members smiled at the apparent faux pas by the minister who was steering the bill. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan announced that the bill was unanimously passed by the house after the correction had been made.
