The deceased has been identified as Kantaraju, a native of Tippayyanapalya near Kunigal. The truck was treading a steep mud road leading out of the sand dock on the bank of River Netravati towards the national highway, when the driver saw that another truck was coming towards the sand dock from the opposite direction.
