Brooklyn Beckham joins Twitter

London, May 8 (IANS): Brooklyn Beckham, son of former footballer David Beckham and singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham, has joined the micro-blogging website Twitter.

The 16-year-old opened an account by the username @bjbeckham23. This comes just a week after his father joined Instagram, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Brooklyn has already gained more than 20,000 Twitter followers within hours of signing up.

He shared a screenshot of his new profile along with a caption that read: "Follow me on Twitter :) (sic)"

Brooklyn - who will not return to Arsenal Hale End football academy next season - has followed only a few people.

Meanwhile, David has been getting on the Instagram hype and posted several photographs on his 40th birthday in Morocco with the hashtag "#DB40".
