Rs 75 cr encroached land, including of Infosys recovered

Bengaluru, May 8: The Revenue Department officials have recovered as much as 25 acres of land encroached by many persons and companies, including IT bellweather company Infosys, in and around the dried up Thindlu lake area in Bengaluru South on Friday.

A team of officials from Revenue Department accompanied by the Police demolished the compound wall built around one acre of encroached land.

Many agriculturists and private parties had encroached the lake and built a road on the lake, according to the Assistant Commissioner (Bangalore south) L C Nagraj.

The total recovered land is about 25 acres with an estimated value at Rs. 75 crore.

The Infosys Company, however, claimed that it had not encroached any lands and the land in its possession was granted after a survey done by the Survey Department.

The company promised to provide authentic information after verifying all records.
