Delhi sees hot Friday, dust storm likely on Saturday


New Delhi, May 8 (IANS): The national capital on Friday sizzled at the maximum temperature of 42.3 degrees Celsius -- three notches above the season's average. The met department forecast a dust storm on Saturday.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius -- three notches above average. The humidity wavered between a high and low of 32 and 16 percent.

"Sky is expected to be partly cloudy on Saturday and dust storm is likely too," said an official with the India Meteorological Department.

Saturday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 42 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively.

Thursday's maximum temperature was 42.7 degrees Celsius - four notches above the season's average. The minimum temperature was 27.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above average.
