Puttur: Motor bike rider loses life in road accident

Puttur, May 9: Shashidhar Acharya (38), son of Anni Acharya from Puttila Kakkemajalu in Balya village in the taluk died in a road accident which occurred on Friday May 8. The accident occurred at Kemmara on Uppinangady-Kadaba-Subrahmanya state highway.

Acharya, working for a jewellery firm in the town, was going to his home in his motor bike, when tragedy struck. He was trying to overtake a scooter a little ahead of the government school in Kemmara, when his vehicle hit a mini truck coming from the opposite direction. The truck dragged the two-wheeler for some distance after the accident. Acharya, who suffered severe head injuries in the accident, lost his life instantly.

The deceased is survived by wife and three children. Kadaba police sub-inspector, Yogeesh Kumar, rushed to the spot, conducted inquest, and registered a case.
