Pakistan tribals clash over land, 47 killed

Islamabad, May 10 (IANS): At least 47 people have been killed and 25 injured in a clash over a piece of land between tribal communities of Pakistan's South Waziristan, media reported on Sunday.

According to sources, two communities of South Waziristan -- a mountainous region of northwest Pakistan bordering Afghanistan -- clashed over a piece of land, culminating in a gun battle between them, Dawn reported.

Locals of the area said the injured were taken to nearby hospitals of Afghanistan due to the ongoing military operations on the Pakistani side.
