Sullia: Youth from taluk dies in accident at Jodupal

Sullia, May 11: Praveen (27), a resident of Aivarnadu in the taluk, died in a road accident which occurred at Jodupal near Madikeri on Mangaluru-Mysuru Road on Sunday may 10. Manjunath, who was riding the pillion of the bike, suffered serious injuries, and is being treated in a hospital.

The accident occurred after the motor bike Praveen was riding got involved with head-on collision with a car coming from opposite direction. Praveen and Manjunath were returning to their native place after attending a wedding function at Madikeri, when a car coming from the direction of Mangaluru hit their two-wheeler.

Although Praveen was shifted to the district hospital at Madikeri in critical condition, he breathed his last within sometime thereafter. Manjunath continues to be in critical state, it is gathered.

A case was registered by madikeri rural station police in this connection.
