Policeman who attacked woman sacked


New Delhi, May 11 (IANS): A Delhi traffic policeman who on Monday caused outrage by attacking a young woman with a brick after she refused to pay a Rs.200 bribe has been sacked, Delhi Police announced.

A police officer told IANS that head constable Satish Chandra had been dismissed from service under article 311(2)(b) of the constitution which allows for sacking without a formal inquiry.
