Chandigarh, May 11 (IANS): A Sikh religious tour of relics of three Gurus will be taken to other states after the culmination of the tour in Punjab later this month.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday announced that the state government and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) would take the "Dharmik Darshan Yatra" to the other states to help devotees to have a close look at the relics and offer prayers.

Badal led hundreds of people to welcome the yatra, which started from Patiala town on May 6, at Muktsar town.

"The yatra would be taken to different states with help of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and other organizations. The Dharmik Darshan Yatra would visit parts of Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh," he said.

The religious tour, organised by the Punjab government and the SGPC, is being undertaken in a specially-designed vehicle worth over Rs.2.25 crore.

The relics of the Sikh gurus, including their clothes and weapons, are being taken around Punjab. Relics of sixth guru, Hargobind Singh, ninth guru, Tegh Bahadur and tenth and final guru, Gobind Singh, are being carried on the tour.

The tour will culminate at Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib in Anandpur Sahib town May 20.

The holy relics of Guru Gobind Singh include three swords, a set of hair with comb, a turban, a chola (robe), a whip, a bunch of five arrows, a 'Siri Sahib' (small three inch kirpan), a spear with wood, a small plain steel spear, a big sword and another sword with the words "Sat Sri Akal Guru Teg Bahadur' the 1713 Samvat (1656) inscribed on the blade.

Of particular interest to the devotees and scholars is a manuscript written in Guru Gobind Singhi's own hand.
