Udupi: Man dies in collision between mini bus and two-wheeler

Udupi, May 12: A mini bus hit a two-wheeler near Uchila in Badaga Grama on Monday May 11, fatally injuring the two-wheeler rider. The rider succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Uchila Bhaskarnagar resident Y S Ahmed (70). The mini bus was plying from Bhatkal to Mangaluru. Ahmed was thrown on to the road due to the impact, suffering serious injuries on his head.

Ahmed was a senior Congress leader and was the Uchila Congress local committee president for a long time. He was also a member of the local gram panchayat.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, and three daughters. A police case has been registered in Padubidri police station.
