Dubai, May 12: Under the banner of Belman Bethkati Association Dubai, the feast of patron St Joseph was celebrated with family and friends recently Al Wasl Sports Club, London Suites Hotel.
The programme commenced by invoking God’s blessing through prayers, which were led by Victoria Saldanha, accompanied by Jean D’Souza, Jacinta Soans, Delvin Soans, Mischelle Castelino, Lilly Mathias and Vareena Dsouza. There was a welcome dance performed by little children Vidhisha and Viola. The opening of the programme was compered by Walter Monteiro, who introduced the guests of honour and engaged the gathering with his wonderful words.
Vice-president Ivan Pereira delivered the welcome note in the absence of president Ivan D'Souza. Fr Roshan D’Souza, presently working as mission secretary in Brazil, was the guest of honour who enlightened the gathering with his words of wisdom and also gave an invitation to anyone who visits Brazil to meet him.
Clyde Arun Monteiro, a well-known businessman who supports Belman Bethkati Association financially was also the guest for the day. As a symbol of love and gratitude, the guests were felicitated by Jacob Lobo and Ivan Pereira.
The feast was inaugurate by Fr Robert Lasrado, parish priest of St Mary’s Church, Dubai, by lighting the lamp. Uttam Menezes, MC of the event, compered the programme and entertained the crowd till evening.
Children of 'Feat Beat' group also performed excellent dances under the guidance of Arun. Solo dance performance by Elvira Saldanha, Melissa D’Mello and Venessa Monteiro entertained the gathering. Also, duet dance by Inish and Reev Menezes entertained the crowd. Various spot games were conducted by Uttam, followed by the American Housie and counting the chocolates in the box. Everybody actively took part in the games. Baila dance was performed to the beats of Band Eagles.
The party DJ was organized by Lancy D’Souza who is well-known under 'Party Spinners'. Music by team Band Eagles led by Prashanth Sequeira and melodious voice of Wilson Pinto mesmerized the gathering. The memories of the event were captured by Jacob Lobo. It was a day filled with fun and entertainment for all the Belmangars in Dubai. A gathering of about 160 was present and enjoyed the feast.
