55 fall ill after eating 'prasad' in Bihar


Patna, May 12 (IANS): At least 55 people, including children and women, fell ill after eating 'prasad' - an offering to deity - in a Bihar village, an official said on Tuesday.

The incident took place at Meenapur village in Muzaffarpur district, about 70 km from here.

"All of them were admitted to Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur and they are out of danger," a district health official said.

He also said the affected people complained of stomach pain and started vomiting after eating the 'prasad'.
