Light rainfall in Delhi


New Delhi, May 13 (IANS): Delhi and NCR witnessed light rainfall during Wednesday forenoon bringing down the day temperature. The Met Office has forecast more rain during the day.

"The sky will remain partly cloudy on Wednesday. Dust and thunder storm may occur in some areas of the region. There are slight chances of rain as well," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The day started on a sunny note but by around noon it started pouring in the capital and the adjoining districts of Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurgaon.

"I was heading towards Connaught Place and all of a sudden it started raining. I was not carrying an umbrella... however, the rain lasted only for a short while," a commuter Amit Kumar told IANS.

The minimum temperature on Wednesday morning was recorded at 27.5 degrees Celsius -- two notches above the season's average.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 61 percent.

Tuesday's maximum temperature settled a notch below the season's average at 38.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius -- a notch above the season's average.
